Damien Rice- Unplayed Piano, a song for Aung San Suu Kyi

Damien Rice is an Irish songwriter that visited Burma in July 2004, after his visit, he wrote "Unplayed Piano" with Lisa Hannigan a song for Aung San Suu Kyi.
The single was released in 2005.

Damien Rice said, “I prefer not to interfere too much with what is going on in the world, but when someone has been thrown into a hole and they ask you to throw down a rope, I am happy to look for a rope, especially for a woman of such grace.”

On June 19th 2009, Burma's democracy leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, celebrated her 64th birthday. She spent her birthday alone under house arrest. She has been in detention now for more than 15years. Her phone line is cut and her post is intercepted. Armed soldiers do not allow visitors to come close to Aung San Suu Kyi.
